“MagicLock” is another “shaker application” which has the same task as the very first application “ShakeLock” by Manu and “UnlockShake” - to lock the keyboard by shaking the phone.
You may ask why we need another application of this kind, because I can already tell you that “MagicLock” doesn’t bring any new innovative features, but I think it’s good to have the choice between a variety of well working applications. Every application differs at some point from a different one, above all the shaker detection is completely different in all of the three shake lock applications.
So you are able to choose out of the application you like most.

“MagicLock” is written in Python by the great hobby developer Damian who is responsible for some funny projects like “pySnake” or “pyPiwo” which I really like and which were indeed great stuff for our S60 phones.
It is a little bit different to “ShakeLock” and “UnlockShake”, because it only locks the keyboard after shaking your accelerometer supporting handset. That’s useful to avoid unwanted unlocks of your keyboard. If you don’t like this solution, you still have the choice between the other two great projects mentioned ahead.
MagicLock:

The UI of “MagicLock” restricts itself to show only basic functions. The application lacks the “Send to background” feature, so that you must always select the first menu point in the “Options” menu to make it work.

The only setting is to set the “Lock Sensitivity”. Basically you can say that “MagicLock” reacts much more sensitive than the other shake lock applications, but the shaker detection works anyway very well. Regarding only this fact, “MagicLock” is the best application of its kind in my opinion.
However, I prefer to unlock the phone also with shakers, so that I won’t continue using “MagicLock”. Anyway it’s a really nice application you should give a try at choose whether it’s your favourite shake lock application.
