After a wait of what seems like 3-and-a-half years, the Nokia N96 is finally available to buy! This is a good thing, because a lot (and I means a LOT…) of you have told us you want to know more about it, and get yourselves one. Well, now you can!
This is definitely one of those occasions when I look at a mobile phone and go, “Yup, that’s gonna sell by the bucketload.”
Let’s remind ourselves why.
Well, we’ve had a lot of people asking us when the Nokia N96, the absolute top-end flagship amongst Nokia’s mobile phones, is going to be available to buy. Well, since we now know it’s going to be very soon (as in keep your eyes open for it in the next few days!), it’s high time I took a look at this supposed new king of mobile phones, and answer the question on everyone’s lips:
Is the Nokia N96 actually any good?
Well, yes, of course it is, it’s stunning, but this is going to be the shortest blog post ever, if I just say “it’s stunning”, and wander off to gaze at pictures of it for 3 hours. So, I’d best elaborate…

Ladies and Gentlemen it is my pleasure to present to you, what in my opinion is going to be the next killer application for S60 devices. In the comments section of the QWERTY v. T9 speed test article, Tim mentioned an application called T9 Nav which I have only been able to try it today and it has blown my mind.
Anyone who’s used an N-Series mobile phone will have used an interface called Series 60 (or just S60, if you’re lazy), which is what Nokia’s smartphones (mobile phones like the Nokia N95 8Gb) are built on, and which is itself built on an operating system called Symbian. You’ve probably heard me mention Symbian, as it’s what Sony Ericsson’s smartphones (like my P1) are also based on (in the form of UIQ).
It seems as if Nokia is sure going all guns blazing to keep the American Nokia owners happy. After yesterday’s long awaited update for the N95-3, today comes an update for its 8GB sibling. The latest firmware for the N95-4 is now v20.2.005 and is available via NSU.

The N95 8GB or the N95-2 is the successor to the N95 Classic (N95-1). A lot has been already said about the device both positive and negative; it has generally been dubbed as Nokia’s answer to the loads of complaints people have had with the original. Now being a device which benefited from public feedback, Nokia had to get this right. This post investigates how successful has it been in the endeavour.
Nokia and its partners are currently advertising for their new N-Gage gaming platform with great campaigns: After their 15 000 free licenses for the football game “FIFA 08″, there is another new free giveaway for N-Gage admirer (and those who Nokia wants to win over with these campaigns ).
