Nokia E66 and E71 Get Updated

The Nokia E66 Phone, Boxed

There’s two semi-new firmware updates for the Nokia E66 and E71 smartphones, as well as a general update to the Nokia Software Updater app. Changes include “performance improvements” for the camera (viewfinder orientation), Mail for Exchange synchonization, and browsing. You also get the latest versions of Mail for Exchange and Nokia Maps.

Herre’s hoping Nokia fixed the dedicated camera key actually functioning as a dedicated camera key bug, the wacky accelerometer, and this annoying bug I get sometimes that causes the backlighting to remain off when unlocking the phone.

E71 and E66 Firmware Updates available for EU!

The big shaftola for the US/NAM owners of these devices but for others you will be able to update your E71 and E66 with a new firmware.  The firmware includes the following:

Nokia E71 SW releases 110.07.127

Both The E71 & E66 Updated - Now Up To v.110 (Changelog Inside)

Both the E71 and the E66 have been updated to v. 110.07.127 and v. 110.07.126 respectively. This update brings a new versions of Mail For Exchange and Nokia Maps and also includes a number of performance improvements including camera viewfinder orientation, Mail for Exchange synchronisation and browsing.

But before you update, a word of caution- this update kills the ability to ‘hack’ your phone, so if you’re interested in that sort of thing - stay clear. Both Mail For Exchange and Nokia Maps can be updated by stand alone SIS files if that’s some consolation.

First Impressions: Nokia E66 Phone

The Nokia E66 Phone, Boxed

A shiny new Nokia E66 arrived at my house today, and I spent a couple of hours transferring stuff from my old phone, changing settings, and just generally messing around with it. Here’s my impressions of the business-oriented slider:

First, the quick summary. No question about it, the E66 is easily one of the most impressive phones that I’ve picked up straight out of the box. It ranks up there with the original N95.

Nokia E66 subtle features

I had a chance to reflect on the E66 and realized that I had forgot to mention within the review a couple fun features of the device.  Most having to do with the accelerometer feature.  Unlike the E71 when wanting to put the phone into silent you simply just had to flip the phone over, same could be done for incoming calls.  When flipped over this would change the ringer profile to silent.  If a call was incoming or an alarm was sounding all one simply has to do with the E66 is flip it over.  The E66 also posses the ability to be tapped in order for a call to be silenced.   Some interesting and fun facts about the E66.

With a lot of live pictures and the FFC approval, the upcoming two business devices E66 and E71 are confirmed, but still unofficial. Suprising for me that we haven’t heard an official statement about both phones yet after such a long period of time since pictures and information are zipping arount the web.

Live Pictures of upcoming Eseries Devices E66 and E71

The nearly confirmed two Eseries devices E66 and E71 are still unconfirmed, but actually everybody knows that it’s just a matter of time until Nokia will announce the two S60v3 FP1 devices of their Eseries line officially.
We have only seen a few bad quality pictures of both devices, but now Endgadget Mobile has posted the [...]
